There are few elements that can bring utmost serenity to your living room or any room for that matter like the flowering bonsai. Famed for its majestic color, most tree enthusiasts are well aware of the difference the flowering bonsai can make in the atmosphere of their living room.

The flowering bonsai trees need more fertilizers than other bonsai varieties. When the tree is in bloom, it is advised that one should use fertilizers at least once every two weeks. When the tree is dormant, fertilizer use may be limited to once a month.
There are slight differences in the pruning procedures undertaken on flowering bonsai trees. When pruning one has to take special care to remove all the dead flowers so as to enable new flowers to sprout and grow. In other bonsai trees, this is not required as they do not bloom.
There are different varieties of the flowering bonsai tree with each having its own special appeal. The Fukien Tea Bonsai is one of the more popular varieties. The tree blooms in the summer months and is evergreen throughout the year. Due to their small size, the Fukien flowering bonsai is suitable as an indoor tree. Its flowers tend to be very small and eventually turn into black berries.
If one is looking for an easily trainable flowering bonsai, the Azalea bonsai is suitable for this purpose. This tree blooms during the months of May and June. The hardy Japanese Maple bonsai that has small red and purple flowers is another crowd favorite.
The Gardenia Bonsai and the Dwarf Pomegranate Bonsai are highly admired not only due to their colorful flowers but also due to the wonderful fragrance they emit. The Gardenia is evergreen while the Dwarf bonsai has seasonal flowers.
Few bonsai trees can do well by themselves like the Cherry Bonsai. This bonsai is quite accommodating and is noted for its cherry colored flowers. If white colored flowers are your fancy then the Olive Bonsai, Serissa Bonsai and Bougainvillea are likely to be your favorite. The Bougainvillea is particularly unique due to its ability to produce flowers of different colors. These include purple, yellow, orange and white.
One has a wide variety to choose from when it comes to the flowering bonsai. It makes a great indoor plant and with the right conditions, some can replicate their natural scenery in your living room giving it a very unique feel.
