Several different Bonsai kits have been developed over the years and can be attained at a nearby bonsai dealer or information about them can be obtained directly online.

Keeping in mind that cheap is expensive, buying an a nice Bonsai tool kit will actually save you money in the long run. In most cases cheap bonsai kits are not made with very long lasting materials. This will cost you less in the beginning but you will find yourself having to purchase new tools after a short period of time if you use them very often.

Particular Bonsai tools are meant for different things like pruning, spraying, trimming and styling. Once you are accustomed to the usage of the tools you will want to buy a wider variety of the same tools in order to do the best job. Many Bonsai packages come with a tool kit but you can still find them being sold separately. These are usually better quality.

Starter bonsai kits should include a Bonsai cutter which is very useful in the trimming and cutting of twigs. The handle is made and shaped relatively large to fit the human hand. This tool should always be kept sharp so as to make the cutting smooth and easy.

One would also need a concave branch cutter. This tool is considered essential in Bonsai growth. It’s used to cut branches and causes them to heal faster after small scarring. There also needs to be the spherical knob cutter which is used for removing roots and trunk knobs. Its head is shaped like a sphere which produces a hollow, round cut that heals faster also due to small scarring.

The bud trimming sheers has a long narrow body which is perfected to cut the buds of the tree. It is however not suitable for general trimming since its blade will rapidly become dull.

A root hook in the Bonsai kits is used to disentangle roots of a big Bonsai tree and due to its round end one can re arrange the roots of the tree without destroying them. Having a good Bonsai tool kit gives you the benefit of having fast growing, healthy and undisturbed Bonsai trees growing all around you.

Your pots color, size and shape should give maximum compliments to your tree. No matter what kind of pot you choose, drainage holes at the bottom of the pot are a MUST. Choose a fairly deep pot to allow free spreading of your tree. This is especially important if your tree is a cascade style Bonsai with the kind of branches that dip below the pots base.

A copper or aluminum wire is also needed to give your tree some sense of direction. You will need a wire cutter too for the cutting and shaping of the wires. These tools are important as they can make the handling and growth of Bonsai easy as well as fun.
